Notes on event

U-77 reported that she had sunk eight sailing vessels with gunfire between 22 July and 16 August 1942. Six of these vessels were Vassiliki, Toufic El Rahman, St. Simon, Ezzet, Kharouf and Daniel. The Adnan was only damaged and a unidentified sailing vessel was sunk on 7 August.

The Kharouf was sunk with 19 rounds from the deck gun about 20 miles west-northwest of Sidon at 01.20 hours on 10 August 1942.
