Notes on event

At 00.42 hours on 24 Aug 1940, U-57 attacked convoy OB-202 25 miles northeast of Malin Head, sank the Saint Dunstan and Cumberland and damaged Havildar.

The Cumberland (Master Edwin Arthur J. Williams) remained afloat and tried to reach port, but sank 8 miles 5° from Inishtrahull. Four crew members were lost. The master and 53 crew members landed at Moville, Co. Donegal.
