Husband of Margaret McCaffrey (nee McKay). Henry McCaffrey served aboard HMS Salopian with his brother in law Thomas Edward McKay, who survived the sinking. Thomas was supposed to be in the engine room but Henry decided to swap shifts with him on their break, just before the first torpedo hit.
