Personal information

Joseph Dieltins rescued himself on a raft together with the only other survivor of the sinking of Chenango. He was picked up after 12 days adrift at sea and taken to the US Marine Hospital at Norfolk, but died of a severe gastrointestinal hemorrhage on 4 May 1942.
