Personal information
Son of Carl Johan and Cecilie Johannessen; husband of Agnes Marie Johannessen, of Oslo. He had survived when the Norwegian steam merchant Victo was sunk by German aircraft off Flamborough Head on 8 November 1941 and when the Norwegian steam merchant Benwood sank after a collision with the US tanker Robert C. Tuttle on 9 April 1942.
