Personal information
Cornelis van Rietbergen survived the torpedoeing of Amstelland in July 1940, but died of wounds aboard HMS Vanquisher after his ship was bombed by a German aircraft in February 1941. He was buried at the Mill Hill Cemetery, Middlesex.
