Personal information

Son of Samuel and Emily Cartwright, of South Lambeth, London. His brother, CQMS Samuel Cartwright, died on service in the United Kingdom on 7 November 1940. James Cartwright died from exposure in a lifeboat after the sinking of Avila Star and was buried at sea.
