Personal information
Son of Thoralf and Nelly Amalie Thorstensen, of Borøya, Dybvåg. He survived the sinking of the Norwegian tanker Rigmor during Operation Performance, the attempt of ten interned ships to reach the UK from Sweden, when she was bombed by German aircraft in the North Sea on 2 April 1942.
