Personal information
Steinþór Árnason (38), able seaman on the ship during the attack, was the brother of the master Gunnar Jens Árnason (33). They both died in the attack and are buried at Þingeyri in western Iceland along with Gísli Guðmundsson (34) and Guðmundur Stefánsson (23) who also fell in the attack. The chief officer, Sigurður V. Jörundsson (23), the fifth victim is buried at the small island of Hrísey in northern Iceland (Lúðvíksson, 1970).
