Personal information
Son of Frederick Robert and Kathleen Otway; nephew of Celia A. Smith, of Sedgeford, Norfolk. He was picked up by HMS Ebor Wyke after the sinking of Rotorua, but subsequently died and was buried ashore in Sandwick Cemetery.
