Personal information
Son of Joseph and Mary Mahon, of Irvinestown, Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. He was one of three brothers who all served as radio officers in the Merchant Navy. James Patrick Mahon was killed in a car accident while on shore leave from Alnmoor at Portland, Oregon on 9 January 1935. William Vincent Mahon survived the war although one of the ships he served on was sunk by a U-boat.
