Personal information
David Maitland Makgill Crichton had studied history and worked in Albania for 12 months as freelance journalist before serving as Lieutenant with Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. He was recruited by Special Operations Executive (SOE) in January 1941 and it was planned to send him to Albania via Cairo, but he was lost on passage as Civil Servant aboard Jonathan Holt from Liverpool to Takoradi.
