Personal information
Son of Thomas Bolton and Rachel Patterson, of North Shields, Northumberland; husband of Irene Patterson, of North Shields. He had joined the Merchant Navy at the age of 16 and was followed by his younger brother John George, who perished with him aboard the San Demetrio.
