Personal information

Son of Patrick and Hilda Garvey, of Howth, Co. Dublin, Republic of Ireland. John took passage aboard City of Pretoria to take leave at home in Howth, where his father was the harbor master at the time. He had just left his brother in New York who as it happens was returning his belongings to Ireland as his ship was returning to Dublin in Ireland.
