Personal information
Arlis T. Hart had joined the US Navy in 1940 and was serving aboard USS Enterprise when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on 7 Dec, 1941. He participated in the Battle of the Coral Sea before being assigned to USS Plymouth and survived when she was sunk in August 1943. The remainder of the war, he served aboard USS Gandy.
