Personal information
Hugh Oliver Francis survived the sinking of Pinto in September 1944. He had the same experience when he was wireless operator on RMS Carpathia when she was torpedoed and sunk by U-55 (Werner) on 17 Jul, 1918. He was rescued by the crew of HMS Snowdrop.
