Personal information
He was taken prisoner by U-753 three days after Madoera was torpedoed, landed at La Pallice on 10 March 1943 and taken to the camp Marlag und Milag Nord (POW No. 1058). Suffering from a duodeum ulcer he was released from captivity after an operation in 1944.
