Personal information
Son of Richard Charles Gurney and Eva May Fort, of Holmesdale, South Australia. Clifford G. Fort was one of the survivors in the lifeboat that made it to Bathurst after the sinking of Memnon. He later joined 201 Squadron RAF and was killed when Sunderland W4025 was shot down by a ship of convoy WS-21 in a friendly fire incident.
