Personal information
William Patrick Kelly, of Baltimore, MD, was one of the survivors from Carlton who made landfall in Norway three weeks after the sinking, was taken prisoner by the Germans and taken to the POW camp Marlag und Milag Nord. He was released and repatriated aboard Gripsholm in February 1945.
