Personal information
James Richard Sloan joined the Nebraska at Liverpool on 1 November 1943. He suffered injury to left elbow during the sinking of his ship on 8 April 1944 and was adrift in a lifeboat for ten days before being rescued by Kindat, which took the survivors to Freetown from where they were repatriated to the UK aboard Queen of Bermuda.
