Personal information
Patrick Albert O’Brien served in the Royal Navy from 7 April 1942 to 15 June 1946. He became a DEMS gunner, being assigned to African Prince from 5 June 1943 to 17 August 1944 and Modasa from 5 to 30 October 1944 before joining the Empire Kingsley on 15 February 1945 and surviving her sinking on 22 March 1945. Patrick was then assigned to Samthar from 25 April to 24 July 1945, to Jalaveera from 4 August to 30 September 1945, to Fort Lamur from 30 October 1945 to 1 February 1946 and to Silverwalnut from 11 February to 1 March 1946.
