History Completed in August 1936 as steam trawler Northern Spray (LO140) for Mac Line Ltd (Lever Brothers Ltd), London. In October 1937 transferred to Northern Trawlers Ltd, London. In September 1939 requisitioned by the Admiralty and converted to the A/S trawler HMS Northern Spray (FY 129).

Post-war:
Returned to owner (GY190) in September 1945. On 23 Oct 1963, wrecked in 66°29N/23°06W at Isafjördur, Iceland. The crew was saved by the British trawler James Barrie (H15) and the Icelandic Coast Guard patrol vessel ICGV Óðinn.

 
Notes on event

On 30 Oct 1942, HMS Northern Spray (FY 129) was damaged by an explosion, apparently from a torpedo. No attack report had been found in the U-boat logs to match the claim.
