Notes on event | At 13.04 hours on 11 Dec 1943, HMS Cuckmere (K 299) (LtCdr A. Johnson, RNVR) was badly damaged by a Gnat from U-223 while escorting convoy KMS-34 off Bougie. She was towed to Algiers, but declared a total loss. On 6 Nov 1946, returned to the US Navy and broken up. | ||
