Notes on event

At 01.00 hours on 24 Sep 1939 the Phryné struck a mine laid on 4 September by U-13 and sank 3,5 miles east of Aldeburgh Lightvessel. All crew members were rescued by the Aldeburgh rescue boat and brought to Aldeburgh, where several wounded were taken care in the hospital.
