USS Tucker (Lt.Cdr. William Reginald Terrell, USN) was sunk by mining in Segond Channel, New Hebrides, 6 of her crew were killed and 21 wounded. The survivors were rescued by the SS Nira Luchenbach amongst them the Commanding officer Terrell.
