The American destroyer USS Luce (DD 522) lost on 4 May 1945 in position 26° 35'N, 127° 10'E.
Struck by a Japanese kamikaze plane and sunk west of Okinawa in position 26°35'N, 127°10'E. 186 men survived including the wounded Commanding Officer Cdr. Jacob Wilson Waterhouse, USN. 150 men were lost with the ship.
