Hi RB,
Only had Rohwer\'s Axis Submarine..... to hand not U-boote Erfolge........ (the one given to me by KzS K-F M) so not sure of the umlaut in schuß. But with fang being an incisor tooth in wolves and other animals I have always taken it to be a death blow delivered from the bow (mouth) (yes \' coupe de grace\' as they say in France. All submarines have bow TT so just seemed logical to face forward and deliver the blow that way.
