Thanks a lot for the reference to the picture. Considering the quality of the photograph and the flora and fauna attached to the artifact, it is pretty easy to confuse it with a T-valve snorkel head since both had a cylindrical housing. Looking at your photo and Rössler drawing, I note that the T-valve housing was shorter (about 20% less than the diameter) than the ring valve which seems to be about 20% longer than the diameter. The only way to tell for sure is to look under the housing, but I suppose that is not permitted.
