The lathe onboard the Type IXC/40 was an electrically driven fixed unit.
Six speeds of operation are provided, and the unit is suitable for face turining, longitudinal turing and tread cutting. A hollow head stock permits work on long pieces of material which could not otherwise be gotten into the machine.
This information was taken from a report on Surrended German Submarine report on Type IXC at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Dated 1946. That was all the information the book had, sorry.
