I wan't to know how the propeller axel is sealed.
As I understand the engines are inside the hull
in the same atmospheric pressure as the crew
(ca 1 atm) and an axel goes from the engine out
through the pressure hull and has a prop stuck
on the end. For each 10 meters you go down the
outside pressure increases by 1 atm so what
keeps the water from flooding in through the
same tube as the propeller axel? I understand
this tube is filled with grease on a regular ship
but that is not subject to the same pressure.
