In the movie "DAS BOOT" the blue lighting was used in the forward torpedo room
to help the "tennants" get some well earned sleep. If torpedoes had to be "routined" or tube-loaded the white lighting was used and the tennants vacated the room.
Also, in the same flick, several white lights remained lighted even during "rigged-for-
red conditions.....check it out, and the Old Man never did anything about it.
