Hi Bob and Everyone,

Bob jared me out of a quiet time , thanks. see movies das boot...

Depth Sounders work on a ping or signal being transmitted and received and the time measured to determined the depth. I did a search in General forums and tech and found little.

I remember someone saying that the pressure was measured on the pressure hull to determine the depth. As uboats or any sub wants to be quiet-- the conventional method would not be used . Is simple pressure the only way a sub has to determine their depth?? As it is rather important to know where the bottom is!!

Sincerely,

Charla Anaya
