The single periscope on the Typ II prototype sub Vesikko, manufactured by Zeiss, does have a stadmetric ranging system and I can't see a reason why it wouldn't have been in the later u-boats.

I think that in the book "Iron Coffins" the author (a u-boat commander) mentioned something about different periscope models, that some had direct link to the TDC and other advanced features, while some other u-boats had very basic scopes.
