<HTML>Brian:
Some other information on HMS Tweed:
1. November 20, 1943:
HMCS Tweed with the frigate HMS Nene and 2 Canadians corvettes HMCS Calgary and HMCS Snowberry found U-536 shortly after an unsuccessful attempt to pick up German POWs from Canadian waters and attacked her forcing her to blow to the surface. No luck in boarding U-536 but she sank and HMS Tweed was
involved in the resuing of the U-Boat commander Rolf Schauenburg and 16 other
Germans.
2. Sinking of HMS Tweed:
U-305 hit starboard side of Tweed with at least 1 if not 2 torpedoes
Sinking time: 2 minutes
Survivors: 44
