<HTML>The diving alarm is common to all Navies. it's intended to let the whole crew be aware of what's going on. You would ot want (in the old boats) people keeping smoking or thinking something was wrong and openn the wrong valves. It is also a lot faster than telling each individual to begin diving procedure - particularly if a DDis coming at you.
