There are a number of problems with this story ...not the least of which is that the Danae of World War One was a Cruiser,and would not have have carried depth charges as part of her armament, and further, she was not completed until June 1918,when she joined the Light Cruiser Squadron at Harwich.

I can find no trace of her ever finding a "ghost ship" or having any contact with a submarine.
