Of course, my questions are, given that we believe Bernhard was picked up approx. an hour after the sinking - Was he picked up by the Master's boat - in which case we will never know what happened to him - or was he picked up by the other? Was he one of the 11 who drank sea-water or was he one of the 14 who made land only to die shortly after. Were the bodies of the 11 buried at sea and what happened to the bodies of the 12 who made land but perished? If only we could find some small patch of sea or land to honour.
