Many thanks for this Nigel. I believe that my Great Uncle, William Begg McDonald died when the Stonecrop was torpedoed. He's listed on the memorial at Southsea with his DSC for the action the day previously. One thing's for certain though, our relatives were shipmates in very tough circumstances.
