Hi, Daniel, Many thanks for your interest in my plight! I heard today from his surviving daughter in Australia that he was supposedly only aged 16 at the time; that would place the sinking in 1914, but only 3 are listed for that year, all in the English Channel. The Atlantic war really seems to have got going in 1915. I'm down to a handful of Clyde based ships sunk off Ireland in 1915, so the prospect of finding something is maybe not so bad....
