There is a legal principle, that the fulfilment of a crime can not serve one of criminals by the justification of other criminal.
<em>Had Donitz served the Allied side, I believe he would be revered as one of the world's leading naval leaders of all time.</em>
If Ben Laden was not the international terrorist but the General of USA Army, probably he would be considered as outstanding military leader. However he is terrorist, so his activity is estimated by other image.
<em>It is also noteworthy that the judgment of German leadership at Nuremberg is well known, but the Japanese war criminals were strikingly handled mildly.</em>
The Tokyo process on the Japanese military criminals passed in Tokyo since May 3, 1946 till November 12, 1948. The court studied actions of 28 men. The verdict was born 25 defendants. (Two men have died and one man was ill heavy incurable illness).
The tribunal has sentenced to a death penalty Todzio, Itagaki, Hirota, Matsui, Donhara, Kimura, Muto.
Togo was sentenced by 20 years of prison and Sigemitsu by 7 years of prison. Others 16 men were sentenced to life prison stay.
