Thank you for the points you made and the info you provided about the Japanese trials, I need to study them a little more.

Do you consider Donitz in the same class as bin Lauden? I believe Donitz conduct as Grand Admiral generally parallels that of his Allied counterparts, he just fought for the side that lost so he got tried as a war criminal. bin Lauden is a criminal, murder of innocents in the name of religion.
