I saw your posting late last nite and called a couple old crew members this morning in Germany. Their recollection seems to support both views. One bridge watch member insists that both watches had their own southwesters, whereas one Maat in the Zentrale claims that the boat had been issued several as well.
Draeger TR were issued to the boat not the men.
Go figure. You know, eyewitness accounts particularly this late are notoriously unreliable. Perhaps there might have been a combination of both. Rgds, RB</HTML>
