"Submarines hunter under the command of Senior Lieutenant A. P. Kolenko heated one of the German U-boats. She sunk at a comparatively small depth, and we then raised she. Trophy proved to be very valuable. The newest German torpedoes with the acoustic instruments of homing found on the boat. Our trophy we did not hide from the allies. U. Churchill turned to I. V. Stalin with the request to allow British specialists to look around German boat with the torpedo."

Chief of the laboratory of torpedo institute of the Soviet Navy O. Bron wrote:
"From U-250 were removed eight torpedoes. Three acoustic torpedoes T-5 were transported with the large caution to the naval mine storage, where occurred their disarmament. Disarmament occurred at night and in the evening with the red light. Entire explosive from the warhead was smelted with the aid of the hot vapor. Not one bolt they turned away, since was assumed the presence of traps. "

on 30 November, 1944, Winston Churchill to Josef Stalin wrote:
"Soviet Navy informed the Admiralty about the fact that on the seized... submarine were discovered two German accoustic torpedos endeavor... We count obtaining one torpedo endeavor so by the urgent matter that we would be ready to direct after the torpedo British aircraft into any convenient place, appointed as you ".

Admiral Kuznetsov wrote:
"Supreme Commander-in-chief called me and asked my opinion. I answered, that, in my opinion, there are no foundations for rejecting to Allies. Stalin agreed with me. In this spirit followed the answer to British Premier."

on 14 November, 1944. Josef Stalin to Winston Churchill wrote:
"Unfortunately, we are deprived of the possibility to even now send into England one of the torpedoes... hence two possibilities: either drawings obtained in proportion to the study of torpedo and descriptions will be transferred immediately to British military mission, and at the end of study and tests torpedo will transmitted at the disposal of the British Admirality or without delaying leave into the Soviet Union to British specialists, also, on the spot study in the parts torpedo and take from it drawings".

Admiral Kuznetsov wrote:
"I returned order to Commander of the Baltic fleet Admiral V. F. Tributs to permit British representatives to visit and to look around captured ship. Englishmen after inspection sincerely thanked for this excursion, especially for the valuable information about the German accoustic torpedos."

Chief of the laboratory of torpedo institute of the Soviet Navy O. Bron wrote:
During January 1945 to Leningrad arrived the group of English torpedomen headed by the Captain E. Сonningwood. When British experts arrived to Leningrad study of the German torpedoes T-5 was finished, and all necessary materials were given to British mission. After staying two weeks Englishmen left... After being introduced to the Soviet reports, they reported that it is completely satisfied".

Admiral Kuznetsov wrote:
"Stalin this set: not too whether valuable secret we did give out? It called me and by dissatisfied tone he asked: "Who permitted showing to the Englishmen of torpedo with the acoustic instruments of guidance?" I answered, that I given order to show boat without any limitations and therefore Commander of fleet entered in the spirit of my order. Then was caused Commander of Baltic fleet V. F. Tributs and was obtained reproach for the delivery of German secrets. Stalin recalled that the Allies very unwillingly share with us their military secrets. That time everything managed satisfactorily.

That time I could not think that these accoustic torpedos will afterward recollect to me and by the rear number they will accuse of the transfer to the foreigners of important military secrets...

At the wartime and now I saw nothing prejudicial in the fact that this U-boat was shown to allies "without the limitations".

To Peace'. A mourning rally was held at the Lutheran cemetery in which took part mayor Surikov, Mrs. Maten of the German consulate general, members of the German Cultural Center and the People's Union of Germany for Servicemen's Graves. The prayer for the departed was read by Orthodox Fr. The Soviet losses amounted to 20 men and the German 46.

The killed in action were honored with a minute of silence, wreaths and flowers, as 100 memorial candles were lit. The rally was concluding with Ave Maria sung in Latin.
