Type VIIC 41 late

Hi,
New here, so this may be obvious but can anyone help with identifying the structures protruding fron the sides of the hull just forward of the conning tower, above the flooding slots, on the late type VIIC 41 (typically the ones with the fin type compass housing)?
Any help would be appreciated.
