<HTML>Sounds like Hollywood to me. Years ago, they produced a movie titled, I believe, "The Mouse That Roared". The story line involved a band of Norwegians, or were they from Iceland Gummi? Anyway, seeing how well the United States was treating its defeated enemy Germany, these people wanted to get in on the booty so they declared war on the United States and sent a long boat to attack New York City.

The day these invaders sailed into New York harbor and landed in lower Manhattan, a great air raid drill was being held and the city was "shut down". No trams, no trains, no taxis, not even any people on the streets. They thought the Americans had abandoned the city and that they had won the "war" by mistake and there would be no "Marshall Plan" for them.

A U-boat entering New York in the midst of WWII and its crew going ashore is just about as far fetched.
