Submarine on Reef

<HTML>I just attended Captain Dave McClintock's funeral today. He was 89 and commanded the USS Darter in the Lete gulf campaign. Ya know Dave sunk the Atago,Admiral Kurita's flagship essentially beginning the end of the Japanese naval war as Kurita (after being in the water for a while) chose to turn his fleet around saving MacArthur's troops alot of grief. As us sub enthusiasts know the Darter grounded on a reef chasing the convoy. Dave was a good friend and never mentioned anything about red glasses in his pursuit . Instead the Darter ran on top of an uncharted reef. Ive seen the WW2 naval charts for this area and it is labled "dangerous ground".</HTML>
