<HTML>Re the "Baralong". There was a book published about it called "Baralong- a naval war crime" i can't remember the exact title or author , cox or something like that.
Anyway, in the book survivors of the "Cyprian" were interviewed as were survivors of "Baralong"'s crew. Apparently discipline on board the Q ship "Baralong" was slack, the crew was drunk most of the time, the captain, Herbert, shoot the Uboat skipper in the face at point blank range after he was brought to him as a prisoner, some of the crew of the "Cyprian" joined in the hunt for the Uboat survivors onboard the "Cyprian" and the ship's carpenter of the "Cyprian" ( a civilian) personally shot one of the german prisoners in the face.
The bodies of the murdered germans were "mistreated" (body parts souveniered)
All this was in stark contrast to the behaviour of the Uboat crew who correctly stopped "Cyprian" according to naval regulations, saw to the safety of the crew, and only then sent a boarding party over to scuttle the ship.
