<HTML>Hi!
After a beginning of WW2 BBC has stopped public television broadcasting. However in London during WW2 there was a television broadcasting specially and only for military hospitals. About these broadcasting there was a speech in my message. I do not know what aerial was used for television broadcasting. However your the declaration is logically improper.
In Leningrad in time WW2 the television was used in the system of an antiaircraft protection for fast transfer of information about enemy aircrafts from central army antiaircraft headquarters. Incidentally this TV system was similar British. The fact is well known, that in time WW2 under certain conditions in Leningrad watched TV broadcasting from London.
If you have doubts in certainty of this fact I may try to find characteristics of this TV system and report a date and plot of observed programs. However I am not TV expert it can demand some time for search of such data. I am ready to report you E-mail of a expert from St. Petersburg which can acknowledge my information and report you technical details.
In 1945 USSR has assumed the American TV standard (assumed in 1941 in the USA). Moscow television in the summer 1945 first in Europe begin daily public TV broadcasting.
