Do you live in the United States? There is a 1 hour documentary floating around on cable TV between the Discovery and History Channels about the history of U-505. I believe I have a copy of it home. She was the only U-Boat to have a Commander commit suicide during a depth charge attack. I hear that she was supposed to have suffered the worst damage by an air attack and survive. I believe you have found all the available books on U-505. I'm glad that your grandfather or his crew weren't killed by U-505's attack. Also there is a WW2-era documentary (I forget the title)about the capture of U-505 by the USS Guadalcanal.
