<HTML>This torpedo was probably fired by U-156 under Hartenstein on February 16 1942. Hartenstein fired three torpedoes around 0315 in the morning, one of which hit the tanker Arkansas. Two others were also miss, but one of them had hit the beach near the Lago refinery without exploding. A demolitionteam under Lieutenant P. Joosse ( Dutch navy reserve ) was sent to disarm it. Rather carelessly, it was tried to tow the torpedo away, and the torpedo exploded, with tragic consequences. Joosse, a pettyofficer ( De Maagd ) and two marines ( Kooyman and Vogelezang ) were killed, while three others had minor injuries. Is it a good book ?</HTML>
